Publisher FAQs

Does EHS sell using a CPM or CPC model?
Most often, we use the CPM selling model, which charges advertisers based on the number of ad impressions delivered. In some cases, we do use a CPC payment structure in which advertisers pay only when a user clicks on their ad. CPC campaigns are primarily structured as focused run-of-network buys.

Does EHS sell sponsorships?
If you permit exclusive exposure for a period of time, and there are highly targeted content areas of interest to certain advertisers, we will sell sponsorships on websites, email newsletters, and Electronic Tables of Contents (eTOCs). Each of the publishing partners in our Networks establishes their own requirements and guidelines regarding sponsorships; these can be as limited as all ads on a particular page or as extensive as creating a fully customized section that exclusively features one advertising sponsor. We also offer other 100% share of voice opportunities including roadblocks and custom-content microsites.

What are the benefits of being a part of the EHS network?
We offer value for publishers in three ways. First, eHealthcare Solutions serves to maximize revenue for our publisher partners by assuming the burdens of understanding and managing ad delivery, especially its complexities and constantly evolving technologies. Second, we provide opportunities with advertising customers that publishers might not otherwise receive because of inadequate reach volume on their own. And third, we offer our publishers digital marketing services to help grow their market presence and establish their brands, resulting in even greater digital revenue and profit.

What is a pure-play network?
We sell only on behalf of our publishing partners; we don’t build, own, or operate our own competitive assets. Without this bias, we can identify the optimal Network placements for achieving marketers’ objectives. (Some ad-serving companies that claim to be networks also own and operate their own healthcare portals. This can represent a major conflict of interest, as they may be financially motivated to deliver the most premium-paying campaigns on their own sites, ahead of other sites in their network.) In the EHS Network, all our sites receive appropriate representation and allocation according to the value they provide our advertising clients.

What is the normal time span for a website to implement advertisements?
That depends on how your site is set up. Implementation can range from a few hours to a few days.

How much control do I have with ads on the site?
As the website owner, you have complete control over the ad sizes and placements on your pages; we simply make recommendations based on best practices. In addition, you may elect to review advertising campaign creative units before accepting them to run on your site. You have the control to reject any ads for any reason, though few publishers find this step necessary because our focus is on bringing you only quality, relevant advertisers.

How do I insert advertisements on my site?
We automatically generate HTML code for your website based on your URL. You then simply insert that code on your pages as instructed, and your ads will be delivered.

What size advertisements does EHS recommend?
The industry standard for banners include the more popular 300×250 medium rectangle, 160×600 wide skyscraper, and 728×90 leaderboard. Other related, but smaller sizes are also used. In most cases we recommend supporting combo ad placements where the larger or smaller size vertical, horizontal, or box ads could appear depending on the need. See a complete list of advertisement sizes.

How many advertisements can I put on one page?
You can use as many advertisements as you want. However, “too many” will not deliver more revenue; it will likely have the opposite effect. We generally recommend two or three ads per page, depending on the layout. At least one should be a “combo” unit (which gives us the flexibility of delivering one of two different sizes) and one large ad unit.

How does EHS target advertisements to a content-specific area?
By using your URL and values you pass to us during tag implementation, the ad serving system is able to identify the type of content on each of your tagged pages and deliver the appropriate types of ads for that page. Each time a person accesses a page, the ads change. Targeting is conducted in many different ways. Get more information on targeting.

What type of reporting does EHS provide?
EHS provides password-protected report access via the Internet. Our publisher partners have 24/7/365 access to near-real-time financial data for all digital ad revenue. Estimates are provided for reconciled data; reconciled reports are posted early each month for the prior month’s activity. All data can be organized in highly customized views based on the needs of the publisher. Get more info on reporting.

When do publishers get paid?
Once you join the Network, it takes 60-90 days to receive your first check. After that, you will receive a check once a month, provided you have earned at least $100 USD. Checks are sent by the 15th of each month for the prior month’s activity.

Should I be concerned about preferential allocation?
Because of the structure of our Network, this is not an issue for our publishing partners. We are a pure-play network, which means we distribute ad campaigns appropriately and without bias among our Network publishers, based on the advertiser’s purchases. See also What is a pure-play network?
